Auchencairn Primary children enjoy planting trees in community field

Pupils from Auchencairn Primary had an enjoyable, if wet, adventure planting a variety of trees in a field just outside of the village.

The five acre field, which was donated by the Paton family to the community, is open to everyone to enjoy.

The school has previously planted trees in this field and pupils were delighted to see how the older trees have grown.

The planting session was led by Lee Paton, Karen Slattery and Fred Coleman, who taught pupils how to plant trees correctly.
