Auchencairn and Borgue Primaries say farewell to head teacher

Auchencairn and Borgue Primary Schools said a sad farewell to head teacher Mrs Lesley McDevitt recently.

Both schools had special assemblies for her and presented her with gifts to thank her for her kindness, dedication and leadership over the last eight years.

Pupils at Auchencairn sang a song they had written for her, presented her with a book of memories and gave her a variety of gifts. At Borgue, pupils also expressed their appreciation with flowers and gifts.

Mrs McDevitt has left a trophy at each school which will be won by the pupil receiving most votes from their peers for acts of kindness.

This is a lovely way for pupils and staff to remember her by.

At the end of an emotional day, Mrs McDevitt expressed her thanks to pupils, staff and parents for all their gifts and the happy times she has spent at Auchencairn and Borgue.

Everyone wishes Mrs McDevitt well in her new post as partnership head teacher at Port William and Kirkinner Schools.
