Aubrey Huff calls Kenosha shooter 'a national treasure'

Aubrey Huff took to Twitter on Wednesday night, and you won't believe what he said this time.

Or maybe you will, given his recent track record.

The former Giants first baseman called Kyle Rittenhouse "a national treasure." Others are calling Rittenhouse "a double murderer."

Rittenhouse is charged with killing two people Tuesday night in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a protest of police shooting Jacob Blake. Rittenhouse, 17, allegedly shot one man in the head and another in the chest.

Huff's tweet, since deleted, was "liked" by more than 2,700 users.

It was disliked by many.

"This is one of the most disgusting posts and threads I've seen," wrote one commenter.

Another wrote: "Just when you think Aubrey Huff cant get any worse, here he goes again."

Huff, 43, was a major player on the Giants' 2010 World Series championship team. With 26 homers, 86 RBI and his red rally thong he also was a popular player.

But a series of Tweets over the past few years, culminating with criticism of the team hiring a female coach, sapped that popularity and led to him being excluded from a 10-year reunion of the 2010 team.

As one commenter wrote on Huff's page: "One day Twitter will be gone and (you) will have nothing except a ring from a team that pretends you don't exist."
