Attendance at Bill Davis Stadium for Michigan doubleheader second largest of all-time

The annual LifeSports Spring Game was last Saturday, but so too was a little rivalry matchup on the diamond at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Maybe a chance to see another sport where the scarlet and gray clashed against the maize and blue was the big draw, or maybe it’s because admittance was only $1 with a ticket stub from the ‘Shoe.

Either way, there was quite a crowd on hand to watch Ohio State take one of two in a doubleheader against Michigan to take the series against a nationally ranked team. In fact, according to a release from the fine folks of the university, the attendance Saturday was the second largest crowd in the history of Bill Davis Stadium.

A whopping 5,280 fans sat in the stands to watch the action, and take in at least one more victory over TTUN. The mark came just short of the 5,306 fans in a doubleheader vs. Minnesota on May 18, 2002.

And don’t look now, but Ohio State is starting to grab a little momentum on the diamond. Maybe the fans will continue to come out in full force to push this team to the postseason.
