Attempted murder thugs hunted after man seriously injured in flat attack

Police are on the hunt for two men after an attempted murder in Renfrew.

A 38-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked by the pair at a flat in Paisley Road around 2:30pm yesterday (July 19).

Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised and the man was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains for treatment.

Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Police believe the attack was targeted and are treating the incident as attempted murder as enquiries remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 2.30 pm on Monday, a 38-year-old man was seriously injured after being a attacked by two men at a flat in Paisley Road, Renfrew.

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

"Officers, who believe the attack to have been targeted, are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing."
