Cops have launched an attempted murder inquiry after a man was jumped in a Scots supermarket car park.
The brutal attack happened at around 10.45pm on Sunday, September 27, on Main Street in Ayr.
The 35-year-old victim was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment of serious injuries where his condition is described as stable.
His attacker is described as having a medium build, 5ft 9in tall, around 30 years of age with short brown hair.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a red jacket.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to contact 101.
