Attack in Townhead sees man left with serious facial injuries

A man has been left with serious facial injuries after being attacked in Townhead.

Police have launched an investigation into the serious assault, which took place on Kennedy Path near Glasgow city centre on Sunday evening.

The 34-year-old victim was rushed to hospital following the attack.

Police are now appealing to the public for information.

A Police Scotland statement released today confirmed: "Police in Glasgow are appealing for information following a serious assault in the city centre.

"The incident happened around 5.20pm on Sunday, 20 September, 2020 when a 34-year-old man was found with serious injuries to his face on Kennedy Path near to St Mungo Place.

"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but not life threatening injuries."

Detective Constable Rachel Hopkirk, of Glasgow CID, commented: "Enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this assault.

"This would have been a busy area on a Sunday evening and we are appealing to anyone that may have information that could assist with our investigation.

"I would ask if you noticed anyone acting suspicious in the area around the time of the incident that you get in contact with officers."
