Attack in Glasgow's Whiteinch leaves man hospitalised with serious back injury

A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being attacked in Glasgow.

Police were called to the Curle Street area in Whiteinch around 1.50pm on Wednesday May 20.

An eyewitness reported seeing a heavy police presence at the scene with officers putting up a large cordon.

A 29-year old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for a serious back injury.

Now officers are appealing for information over the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1.50pm on Wednesday, 20 May, to a report of a man being assaulted in the Curle Street area of Glasgow.

"A 29-year old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by the Scottish Ambulance Service with a serious back injury.

“Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information that could help, who has not already spoken to officers, is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1864 of Wednesday, 20 May.”
