Attack in Glasgow's Dennistoun leaves man in hospital with serious injury

An man has been arrested following a serious assault in Glasgow.

At around 1.15pm on Friday a 22-year-old man was attacked on Cumbernauld Road in Dennistoun, close to its junction with Aberfoyle Street.

The victim was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary having suffered what has been described as a serious injury.

Police confirmed that a 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15pm on Friday, 24 July, we received reports of a serious assault on Cumbernauld Road in Glasgow.

“A 22-year-old man sustained serious injury and has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

“Officers have arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”
