ATM theft probe police charge three men

Detectives investigating the recent spate of ATM thefts have charged three men.

The men aged 33, 37 and 41 have been charged in connection with a burglary at an ATM bunker in the Gilnahirk Road area of East Belfast yesterday and of an ATM bunker in the Hartford Link area of Newtownards on March 30.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "All three men have been charged with burglary with intent to steal and are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday 20th May.

"A fourth man, aged 30, who was also arrested in connection with the incident in the Gilnahirk Road area yesterday has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

"The 41-year-old man has been charged with a further three counts of burglary with intent to steal in relation to incidents in the Ravenhill Road area of Belfast on 18th January; in the Comber Road area of Dundonald on 27th January and in the Woodstock Road area on 23rd February.

"As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
