'Atletico will suffer' - Alberto Moreno's Champions League message to Liverpool's opponents

Former Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has fired a warning to Atletico Madrid ahead of next week's Champions League showdown.

The two sides are set to meet in the second leg of last 16 encounter at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Atletico will bring with them a 1-0 lead from Spain after Saul Niguez scored the only goal of the first leg meeting.

But Moreno, who is now plying his trade for Villareal in La Liga, has warned Diego Simeone's outfit of what awaits them at Liverpool's home.

Speaking to La Vanguardia, the left back said: "I know how tight Anfield is and it's clear that Atletico will suffer a lot."

The defender of course played witness to the power of Anfield as Liverpool completed an incredible comeback win over Barcelona in the semi-final of the competition last season.

Moreno was then an unused substitute as the Reds claimed an historic sixth title in Madrid.

Liverpool will welcome Atletico to L4 on Wednesday evening with a place in the quarter finals set to be contested.
