Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Saturday, August 8.
Gunners miss out on perfect Saliba partner
Arsenal have missed out on Reims defender Axel Diasi.
The centre-back had been linked with a £13million move to the Emirates earlier this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his defensive options.
Yet the 22-year-old has instead moved to AS Monaco. Diasi was touted as a potentially perfect partner for William Saliba next season.
Yet he has signed a five-year deal to remain in Ligue 1 with Monaco.

Partey statement issued
Atletico Madrid club president Enrique Cerezo has told TeleMadrid that he believes Thomas Partey can still be a key part of their side.
The midfielder is wanted by Arsenal as they search for a dynamic presence in midfield.
Atletico are insistent that his buyout clause must be met, though, having shot down any suggestions of a swap deal.
The La Liga side are keen to convince the 27-year-old to sign a new deal to raise his current clause about £45m.

Chelsea transfer shows Ceballos can prove Real Madrid wrong
Dani Ceballos' future at Arsenal is yet to be decided.
As it stands, the 23-year-old remains a Real Madrid player and there was no option to buy in his loan to Arsenal.
Despite this, both Ceballos and Mikel Arteta have said they would be open to an Emirates reunion next season.
The midfielder needs to only look across London for a reason as to why they should feel optimistic over a potential permanent deal.
