Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marín has confirmed Antoine Griezmann will join Barcelona this summer.

Griezmann announced his decision to leave the Wanda Metropolitano at the end of the 2018-19 campaign after five seasons with the club.

The French forward was wanted by Barca last year, but ultimately opted to stay at Atletico as he announced his intentions in a documentary entitled “The Decision”, which aired at the start of the World Cup.

But the Catalan giants now appear poised to confirm his arrival with Marin suggesting a deal has been in place for some time.

When asked about Griezmann’s next club Marín told Radio Estadio: "I know exactly where he's going to play. I've known since March. In Barcelona.

"There are players who feel they are greater than the squad, we have to form a group of men," the Atletico chief added.

Griezmann, who has scored 133 goals in 256 games for Atletico and won three trophies with the Rojiblancos, has a release clause of €200 million, but that will drop to €120m on July 1.
