Atlanta United confirm Manchester United trial agreement

Atlanta United have confirmed that Manchester United have taken Efrain Morales on trial after he impressed club scouts.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution report Morales will come to United on an initial eight-day training programme after club officials made a request to the MLS side to take a closer look at him.

The 15-year-old impressed United representatives at a recent winter showcase event which led the club to contact Atlanta United Academy Director Tony Annan about a possible trial.

Morales is only expected to come to the club on a temporary training programme in order to see how he ranks amongst the current youth prospects in the United academy.

It is also suggested that both Annan and the club's Academy Manager Matt Lawrey are going to accompany Morales during his upcoming trial with United.

“You can’t turn those experiences down, especially when you are a developing a player,” Annan told the Atlanata Journal. “It’s a bonus to our academy that we are producing players of that calibre.

“It gives us a little pat on the back to say we are doing a decent job producing players that can play in the world’s best leagues."
