The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department responded to multiple calls on Thursday night through early Friday morning, primarily for swift water rescues. Approximately 25 people were rescued during this time, according to official sources.

Fortunately, wind-related emergencies were minimal due to the storm's track. However, the AFRD faced challenges during some of the rescues, including a particularly complex operation involving a family of two adults and an infant.

Authorities worked diligently to rescue the family, who were trapped on top of a car by swift currents. The AFRD's swift response and expertise were crucial in ensuring the safety of those in distress.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of preparedness and quick action during severe weather events. The AFRD's efforts highlight the dedication and professionalism of first responders in safeguarding the community.
