TEAM NEEDS

Edge Rusher
Edge rusher is a legitimate need this year even if Takk McKinley, Vic Beasley, and Steven Means play well this upcoming season. Atlanta’s pass rush was a disappointment this in 2018. They saw a drop in production from Beasley, which was one major reason for the team’s struggles. McKinley had a strong second season recording seven sacks, but it can’t be a one-man show.
Defensive Tackle
In 2018, the Falcons struggled to stop the run—ranking No. 25 against the run. Atlanta did place the franchise tag on Grady Jarrett, but adding a defensive tackle to help him along the defensive line could prove to be beneficial going forward.
Cornerback
Brian Poole agreed to a deal with the Jets in free agency. Now, the team needs to add depth to its secondary. Desmond Trufant and Isaiah Oliver will likely be the starting cornerbacks, but finding a starting nickel cornerback to replace Poole will be needed.
Running Back
Tevin Coleman is now on the 49ers. The Falcons do have Devonta Freeman and Ito Smith, but the depth chart is far from being set in stone. Freeman failed to make it the whole 2018 season after getting injured in Week 7, causing him to watch from the sidelines. Smith fared well in his rookie season, but missed the final two games of the year with knee surgery.
