Athletics Ireland have confirmed that the National Senior and U23 Track and Field Championships will go ahead as planned behind closed doors, starting this weekend.
The governing body stated last night that it would seek clarification from the Irish government as to whether the new round of restrictions announced would affect the running of the championships.
However Athletics Ireland is happy that the event, which is to take place at Morton Stadium on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, and then the following Saturday and Sunday over nine sessions in total.
"We will release further details regarding the schedule later today," said Athletics Ireland in a statement.
"All four days will be live streamed. Thank you for your understanding and patience. "
Only athletes, officials and event staff will be allowed on site and competition will take place in two separate sessions each day, with a strict requirement for athletes to leave the stadium as soon as possible after each session.
