Strathaven star Hannah Anderson won gold at the Youth Road Race in Greenock for the first time recently to maintain a strong start to 2020.
TheEast Kilbride AC athlete Anderson had never won on the roads until Sunday, March 15, but she pushed ahead midway through the race after initial sparring with Cade Wright to take home the gold medal in the under-17 women’s race.
Battery Park in Greenock played host to a day of races alongside the River Clyde, as athletes had to contend with some strong winds along the route.
Hannah’s performance saw her earn automatic Team Scotland qualification for events currently scheduled to take place in October.
Her latest success comes off the back of a silver medal at the Scottish Cross Country Championships in Falkirk in February and her first outing in a Scotland vest for the under-20 team at the Run Stirling Celtic International Cross Country in January.
