Athletes take to social media to pay respect to the late Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle, the Los Angeles-based rapper, community organizer and business owner, was pronounced dead on Sunday after he was shot outside of his clothing store in LA.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti confirmed the death, sending out a tweet which said “Our hearts are with the loved ones of Nipsey Hussle and everyone touched by this awful tragedy. L.A. is hurt deeply each time a young life is lost to senseless gun violence.”

Born Ermias Asghedom, Nipsey Hussle burst onto the scene in the mid 00’s with several self-released mixtapes, before he was announced to XXL’s “Annual Freshman Top Ten” in 2010.

Following his passing, athletes took to social media to pay homage to the late rapper.
