Ather Energy to set up 1,000 EV charging stations across Karnataka

BENGALURU: Ather Energy on Thursday signed an MoU with Escoms (electricity supply companies) to establish fast-charging stations for two-wheelers at 1,000 locations across the state.

“The collaboration aims to create a favourable ecosystem for electric vehicles in the state... All government agencies will coordinate with Escoms to share their available spaces for charging stations,” said a press release from Ather Energy.

Tarun Mehta, CEO and co-founder of Ather Energy, said, “We are excited to partner with the state government to set up a wide network of charging stations. A robust charging network is one of the most important factors in accelerating EV adoption. Karnataka has been at the forefront of EVs and this will further the lead.”
