Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi sends Tottenham transfer hint amid 'done deal' rumours

Following the news about Son Heung-min's impending surgery to fix the fractures in his eye after a collision with Marseille's Chancel Mbemba, Spurs have one recognised, fully fit forward and it's the man who seems to never get a rest, Harry Kane.

While Son is set to join Richarlison on the side lines, Spurs have received a boost in their forward department after Conte confirmed in his Liverpool pre-match press conference that Dejan Kulusevski was available having trained on Friday without any problems.

The Spurs boss likely won't want to bring in Kulusevski straight into the starting lineup with the Swede having missed the last 10 games with a hamstring injury picked up on international duty. But he may be forced to do so, especially with the status of Lucas Moura.

When asked about injuries, Conte said: "The problem is Lucas Moura is having some different faces for his pain in his tendon. Today he was really bad and he said to me he was really worried for this but I ask of him to try to be available because we need."

It's certainly possible both could feature in the weekend's Premier League clash against Liverpool, with one possibility being that each player is given a half to make an impact or both start until they feel they can no longer continue, such is the problems Spurs face in the top end of the pitch.

Thankfully, while January seems a long way away, Spurs only have to play four more competitive games before they can seek to bring in reinforcements. And one potential acquisition is Atalanta's Ruslan Malinovskyi.

According to a report from Il Giorno in Italy (h/t FourFourTwo), with Malinovskyi out of contract at the end of the season Atalanta are looking to sell in January so they receive a fee for him rather than allow him to leave on a free in the summer.

Atalanta find themselves in a similar situation that Spurs were faced with in the 2019/20 season when Christian Eriksen made his feelings clear that he wanted to leave. With his contract expiring the following summer, Spurs were forced to sell the Dane to Inter to avoid him departing on a free.

In this case it would be the reverse, with a player departing Serie A to head to the Premier League, and the 29-year-old would certainly be a good signing for Spurs. Malinovskyi has struggled for consistent minutes this season but with 30 goals and 27 assists in his 139 appearances, he can clearly offer competition and back-up in the squad.

The Ukrainian international himself has furthered speculation regarding a move to north London after he liked a tweet from Fabrizio Romano on the topic of Spurs which revealed that, his former Atalanta teammate, Kulusevski was set to return from injury this weekend.
