Sri Rama Navami was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at various temples including Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy temple in Ellanthakunta and other temples elsewhere in the old undivided Karimnagar district on Sunday.
The celestial wedding of Lord Rama with his consort Sita was performed by the priests at the historic Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada as per the age-old rituals.
Scores of devotees from far and wide watched the celestial wedding held at the famous temple on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami.
“Shiva Parvathulu”, the ardent devotees of the presiding deity of the temple, participated in the special rituals held in connection with the mega religious fete amid spiritual exuberance.
The temple executive officer Rama Devi presented pattu vastrams to the divine couple at the celestial wedding.
In Karimnagar, BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar participated in the Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsavam held at Sri Maha Shakthi temple in Karimnagar.
Playback singer Rahul Sipligunj sang devotional songs at the Sri Rama Navami fete held at the temple.
In Ellanthakunta, Minister for Civil Supplies and Backward Classes Welfare G Kamalakar offered special prayers at the famous temple dedicated to Lord Rama in the mandal headquarters town.
