At least six people have been killed after a gunman opened fire at hospital in the Czech Republic.

The shooting happened after 7am local time (8am GMT) on Tuesday and a tweet from police said that a man has shot himself in the head after a manhunt.

Czech Health Minister Adam Vojtech has confirmed that six people are dead.

Police tweeted an image of a person of interest, adding that two people had been injured.

Local police said that they were hunting for the suspect after the shooting at the Ostrava Hospital in the north-east of the country, near the border with Poland and 220 miles east of Prague.
