At least five dead as Russian missile and drone attack hits Kyiv

  • The assault, which was ongoing early Monday, involved ballistic and cruise missiles alongside drones, prompting civilians to seek shelter.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned of an impending large-scale attack hours before, following a previous Russian strike last week that killed 31 people.
  • Zelenskyy reiterated his plea for Western allies to bolster Ukraine's air defences, specifically requesting more Patriot missiles, to counter Russia's prolonged aggression.
