At least 20 people were in cells after being arrested, during what was another 'rather busy' night shift for police in Bristol.
Avon and Somerset officer PC Joe Iles promised to get back into the swing of Twitter during his latest shift - and he more than delivered with a thread illustrating the variety of crime-fighting tasks undertaken on a nightshift.
Apologising for his lack of recent tweets, he went on to tweet details from his shift throughout the night, first recording: "On the build up to Christmas it gets rather busy so apologies for the lack of twittering! Will tweet our shift throughout the night."
He was true to his word, messaging: "Been here for a bit reviewing calls and handovers. About to get ready to go into briefing for tonight’s shift."
One hour in, he posted: "We currently have 20 detainees in custody. Some in for obstruct police, intimidate witness, drink driving and robbery."
Later, he recorded: "Statement provided for a traffic collision on Sturminster Road where driver ran from vehicle. Interviewed and charged for multiple offences."
The focus then turned away from road offences. "Attended a burglary and theft from motor vehicle in Bishopsworth," he tweeted.
"Another burglary call came in just after round the corner, suspected to be the same offender dressed all in grey."
As a result, around the same time, he was "writing crime report whilst parked up on East Street to keep myself out of the station. Waiting for the next call".
Two hours later, he reported: "Attempted to pull over a group of motorbikes which then made off. Turns out they were stolen. Enquiries continue."
