Thailand shooting: At least 12 people dead as soldier opens fire near shopping centre

A soldier has killed at least 12 people in a mass shooting and taken hostages inside a shopping mall.

It is still an active shooter situation with the soldier still at large and believed to be holed up inside the Terminal 21 shopping centre in Korat in eastern Thailand, the Mirror reports.

Wearing a military helmet and uniform, he said in one chilling video clip that he was exhausted from shooting his victims during the ongoing massacre.

He said: "I’m tired now. I can’t move my finger anymore."

Horrifying footage captured by witnesses shows the gunman firing a number of rounds into a crowd as people flee in terror.

Rapid bursts of gunfire are heard in video posted online by a witness.

It shows people running for their lives and others ducking amid heavy gunfire.

Another video clip shows a wounded man being helped inside the shopping centre.

A number of people were killed inside the Terminal 21 Korat shopping mall.

The dead are said to include taxi drivers and a student.

The soldier is said to have stolen a military Humvee from a base and armed himself with an assault rifle during the killing spree.
