At 48.7 degree Celsius, Madhya Pradesh's Bhind hottest in India

BHOPAL: Bhind was the hottest in the country at 48.7 degrees Celsius on Friday. Barmer in Rajasthan was second at 48.1 degrees and MP's Naogaon third at 48 degrees.

It was the hottest day of the season for Bhopal as well at 45.1 degrees - the highest in three years. Summer is scorching towards a peak with day temperatures hovering at 45 degrees in most parts of the state.

There are heatwave warnings for nearly all of MP.

There's no quick respite in store.
