Asylum seekers filmed themselves raping woman on Brighton beach

  • Three asylum seekers, Ibrahim Alshafe, Abdulla Ahmadi, and Karin Al-Danasurt, have been found guilty of repeatedly raping a woman on Brighton beach.
  • The attack took place in the early hours of October 4 last year after the woman, described as "incapacitated", became separated from her friends on a night out.
  • Alshafe, 25, and Ahmadi, 26, were convicted of two counts of rape, while Al-Danasurt, 20, was found guilty of four counts for encouraging and filming the ordeal.
  • During the trial at Hove Crown Court, the defendants claimed the encounter was consensual, a defence rejected by the prosecution who labelled the attack "cynical, predatory and callous".
  • The victim testified that the attack was not consensual and that she recalled being spat on, kicked, and her throat grabbed, stating the men "have ruined my life".
