Asylum seekers and refugees new to Glasgow offered chance to go on mural walking tour

Glasgow's street art has long been a source of pride for residents, with the City Centre Mural Trail promoting the amazing pieces which have added some welcome colour and brightened up neglected spaces and bare walls across the area in the past few years.

The street murals are unique pieces of art which Glaswegians, visitors and local businesses say are helping to enrich the city centre, with the huge range of artwork on display having something to suit all tastes - from the conservative to the radical, quirky and bizarre.

And now non-profit organisation Outdoors For You is offering people who are new to the city as asylum seekers and refugees the chance to discover and learn more about some of the city's fantastic street art by hosting a Glasgow Mural Walking Tour.

Founded in 2017, the social enterprise helps reconnect people with the outdoors through safe outdoor activities, bespoke walking tours and mini-breaks, with the service intended primarily for clients and members of Scottish charities and interest groups such as older people, asylum seekers and refugees, people with disabilities, and people from minority ethnic backgrounds.

Participants on the tour, which will last around two hours, are asked to meet at George Square at 11:30am tomorrow (April 18).
