Asyad Group has inaugurated the first shipping line between the ports of the Sultanate and Umm Qasr port in Iraq.
The group made the announcement in a statement issued online by Omani news agencies on Saturday.
"Asyad Group inaugurated the first shipping line between the ports of the Sultanate and Umm Qasr port in the Republic of Iraq, as part of its efforts to expand the maritime transport network between the Sultanate and the countries of the world," the statement read.
It also added that the move aims to "facilitate trade between the countries of the region, supplement the movement of direct export and import, and provide shipping solutions to its customers."
ASYAD Group's Container Line service was established in 2016 to maximize the financial returns and economic impact of government logistics investments.
