MINNEAPOLIS_The second game of the day-night doubleheader Thursday was a lot like the first, with the Astros pummeling another Twins starter while coasting to an easy win.
Houston whipped the Twins 10-2 in the night game to finish off a doubleheader sweep during which the Astros outscored the Twins 25-9. Houston ended up winning three of the four games of the series and took the season series 5-2.
George Springer, who was drafted out of high school by the Twins but did not sign, was 5-for-8 for Houston in the doubleheader with five runs scored and six RBI. Carlos Correa was 4-for-8 in the doubleheader with a home run in each game.
The announced attendance was 24,935 for the second game, but there were far fewer than that in stands as they sat through another beatdown of the Twins pitching staff.
The Twins hoped lefthander Tommy Milone could throw around 75 quality pitches. He got to 66, and they weren't quality enough.
Houston scored four runs in the second, three coming on an Evan Gattis' homer. Correa's solo shot in third gave them a 5-0 lead. In came lefthander Andrew Albers to make his first appearance since May 1, 2015 when he was with Toronto. He hadn't pitched for the Twins since 2013.
