FlyQuest vs Astralis – Match Recap
Mirage – 13-5 – FlyQuest start off hot, but cool off quick
The match started off with an overwhelming attack on the B site for FlyQuest, followed by a rare unicorn round (no kills for either side). That established an early lead for FlyQuest, yet it was Astralis winning out in the first gun round as they timed out Justin “jks” Savage’ clutch attempt. Astralis were quick to equalise, and the two sides remained inseparable throughout the half.
Switching over to the T side, Astralis stole early momentum with an A site take and dev1ce’s pristine USP-S work. That allowed the Danes to quickly lock in double digits. With all the Astralis players firing hard, the map was hardly a contest. Astralis locked in a victory 13-5.
Overpass – 10-10 – Dev1ce steps up exactly when it counts
Moving to a classic Emil “Magisk” Reif-Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz map of Overpass, Astralis carried the momentum with them to get three on the bounce. FlyQuest replied in the gun rounds and the teams returned to a familiar back and forth dance ending the half 6-6. Neither team could build a sizeable advantage with constant economic resets going both ways.
The tight affair continued through to round 20, tying both teams up 10-10. A mistake from Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard gave FlyQuest their eleventh, but Astralis fortified the B defence for the next round to keep things even. With a final timeout called from Aaron “AZR” Ward, FlyQuest attempted to secure map point first. But dev1ce stepped up once again with his big green, taking two openers in toilets, while Victor “Staehr” Staehr brought out a secondary sniper to control the long side as well. A final aggressive push from jabbi closed out the map, giving Astralis their first win of the tournament.

FlyQuest are the first team to be eliminated from Stage 2 of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025. Their success in Stage 1, while solid on paper, did not inspire confidence as the team was clearly walking on water with every player posting massive ratings. Azr’s addition as coach is still recent enough that the team can hope to improve without roster changes. Can he once again lead Australia to glory?
Meanwhile for Astralis, they have finally taken their first steps towards a Stage 3 berth. Can HooXi lead the team all the way, or will this be another major failure for the Danes?
