Aston Villa will look to sign trio of loanees if they win Premier League promotion

Aston Villa will initiate talks to buy loan stars Tammy Abraham, Tyrone Mings and Axel Tuanzebe if they are promoted.

Villa face Derby in the play-off final a week on Monday for the chance to return to the Premier League.

The Midlands' club have already started forward planning for both eventualities of either promotion or staying in the Championship.

Chelsea striker Abraham, 21, who has 26 goals, and Bournemouth defender Mings, 26, and Manchester United starlet Tuanzebe, 21, have all been key players this term.

The trio helped Villa past local rivals West Brom in the semi-finals and also starred in a new club record 10-game winning run.

Now Villa CEO Christian Purslow is ready to use his contacts at old club Chelsea to try and land Abraham if Villa go up.

Villa also insisted on a matching clause for Mings this summer should anyone else bid.

While Villa would also want Tuanzebe should United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer listen to offers.

However Villa will not be able to afford any of the stars permanently if they miss out on promotion.

They will face challenges to meet the EFL's profit and sustainability rules if Derby condemn them to another year in the second tier.

But Villa do have eight senior players who are out of contact this summer which could help them make considerable savings.

These include: Micah Richards, Tommy Elphick, Glenn Whelan, Mile Jedinak, Mark Bunn, Albert Adomah and Alan Hutton.

While captain Jack Grealish is certain to be in demand from top-flight clubs over a big-money switch.
