Aston Villa vs West Ham: Prediction, tickets, live stream, TV, team news - Premier League 2019-20 preview

Aston Villa vs West Ham
Premier League 2019-20
Venue: Villa Park
Date: Monday, 16th September, 2019
Kick-off time: 8pm BST

West Ham are looking to make it four wins on the bounce as Manuel Pellegrini takes his Hammers to Aston Villa on Monday night.

The Hammers' season started with a 5-0 home humiliation against Manchester City, but the east London club have settled of late with Premier League wins at Watford (3-1) and at home to Norwich City (2-0) along with a Carabao Cup saunter against Newport (2-0).

Pellegrini's squad took shape with some key additions this summer, and games like these are exactly the sort which the Hammers will expect to be picking up three points from.

Team news and predicted line-ups

West Ham have no new injury concerns, with a fully fit squad apart from Michail Antonio (hamstring) and Winston Reid (knee).

Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia has had surgery to repair a fractured cheekbone and will be out for three weeks.

He joins James Chester (thigh) and Trezeguet (suspended) on the sidelines, though Matt Targett could return from a thigh problem.

Aston Villa XI: Heaton; Guilbert, Engels, Mings, Taylor; McGinn, Luiz, Grealish; Jota, Wesley, Lansbury

West Ham XI: Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku; Rice, Noble; Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Anderson; Haller

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 West Ham

Villa's early-season form has been promising yet disjointed, with a win over Everton sandwiched in between defeats to Tottenham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

West Ham have plenty of quality in attack now, and the onus will be on them to take the game to the hosts - a challenge which they should rise to.
