Aston Villa vs West Ham prediction: Felipe Anderson a shrewd pick to open the scoring

It's the battle of the Claret and the Blues on Monday night, at a raucous Villa Park.

Can The Hammers silence the home crowd and come away with something?

We asked the man who knows The Hammers inside out, Sam Inkersole, for his verdict.

Win, lose or draw?

I see this one being a draw, a result Manuel Pellegrini and most associated with the Hammers will probably take considering their wretched away record last season. The draw is a very appealing looking 5/2 with thepools.com.

First goalscorer?

Sebastien Haller is West Ham’s top scorer so far this season with three goals so he’s in with a shout. At 9/2 first scorer he's well priced, too.  But I like Felipe Anderson to get off the mark. He’s bang in form and was unlucky not to score against Norwich last time out. His price of 13/2 first goal is very tempting.

First card?

For Villa, one of their full backs as they’ll be in for a tough evening on Monday. I think Anderson will have a good game so I’ll go with Frederic Guilbert.

Who is on penalties?

Mark Noble will be on penalties always. So 11/1 for him to break the deadlock is excellent value.
