Aston Villa v Liverpool prediction, can Robert Firmino maintain our tipster's good run?

No-one likes a 'told you so' .... unless he's telling you successful tips.

And we like Paul Gorst's recent tipping run.

After cruelly being denied a first goalscorer tip at Burnley by the Dubious Goals Panel, the tall man tipped Gini Wijnaldum to score first at Bramall Lane, then last week wrote: "Salah is on penalties. Maybe that goal I've so reliably tipped him for will come from 12 yards?"

It did.

So what's our Liverpool FC correspondent tipping this weekend?

Recommended Bets

Firmino first goal 17/4

Win, lose or draw?

I expect the visitors to secure another win. The Villans are on a decent run having won four of their last six games, but so are the Premier League leaders. I expect Liverpool to make it 10 wins from 11. The away win is 4/11 with thepools.com .

Who's a good bet for first scorer?

Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian international has spent much of the season loading the bullets for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah but I fancy Liverpool's No.9 at Villa Park. He's a long-priced 17/4 to score first and 23/20 to score anytime .

Who's on pens?

That will be Mohamed Salah but if his ankle problem is flaring up then James Milner will step up, if selected. The veteran netted from 12 yards in normal time of that 5-5 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday before doing the same in the shootout. Either of those two are reliable sorts from the spot. But while Salah is 4/5 to score anytime Milner is 3/1 .

Will Liverpool keep a clean sheet?

Yes. Liverpool have struggled to consistently keep clean sheets all season but I think they will shut out Villa on Saturday afternoon. Both Teams To Score 'No' is a solid Evens tip.

Yellow card?

Fabinho is one yellow away from a suspension, and with Manchester City up next after Villa, I think the midfielder might be strategically rested for this one. In his place, Jack Grealish could be your man, here. The midfielder has picked up three cautions this term.
