Aston Villa have been urged to make a move for Manchester United's Axel Tuanzebe.
23-year-old Tuanzebe made just four starts for the club in the Premier League last season and he is believed to be keen on a loan move away from Old Trafford for the season ahead.
In the past Tuanzebe has spent two different loan spells with Aston Villa and was pivotal for the club during their promotion campaign in the Championship.
He returned to United hoping to fight himself in the starting eleven but has struggled to climb up the pecking order in the last two seasons.
Speaking to Football Insider, Former Sheffield United and Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny claimed Villa may have the 'edge' to complete a deal for Tuanzebe because of his past with the club.
“They have an edge now with that, which is brilliant news,” he said.
“It’s always nice if you know the staff, the players and the place itself. He had a good season there when they got promoted so it could push it their way.
“Villa getting their business done early is a great idea. I don’t see why he wouldn’t want to go there and play Premier League football.
“He’s not played a lot for Man United, he’s only played a handful of matches really. So it would be a good one.
“He’s getting towards that age where you want to start playing regularly.“
United are believed to be looking at a centre-back to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's options this summer with Real Madrid's Raphael Varane heavily linked with a move.
The England U21 international came through the club's academy system but believes he has suffered from a lack of recognition since breaking into the first team.
