Aston Villa struck with two fresh injury concerns ahead of Leeds United trip

Aston Villa have two fresh injury concerns ahead of their visit to Elland Road to face Leeds United after the international break on October 2.

Boubacar Kamara was forced off in the 44th minute and replaced by Douglas Luiz during Villa's 1-0 win over Southampton on Friday. The club are yet to confirm the severity of the setback to the French international, who has undergone a scan on a knee injury.

Steven Gerrard told the Express and Star: "I'm worried about it. It seems every time we get a win it comes at a cost. I am worried."

Lucas Digne has also pulled out of the France squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League clashes against Austria and Denmark respectively after suffering an ankle injury.

Digne has played every minute for Villa across all competitions but Gerrard has Ashley Young or Ludwig Augustinsson to choose from if Digne is unable to recover in time for the Leeds game.

Kamara has also started every Premier League game since completing his summer switch from Olympique de Marseille in the summer. Leander Denconcker, who joined Villa from Wolves on transfer deadline day, would be a suitable option, while Luiz will also be in contention.

Villa have already been hit with a catastrophic injury to fellow new signing Diego Carlos. The Brazilian defender, who arrived from Sevilla for £26million in the summer, is expected to miss a lengthy period after rupturing his Achilles' tendon against Everton in August.

Elsewhere, Matty Cash missed Villa's win over Saints after suffering a hamstring injury against Manchester City on September 3 and has been left out of the Poland squad for the upcoming international break. However, the right-back is expected to return for Villa's trip to West Yorkshire.
