Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings takes aim at Project Restart plans amid Premier League relegation debate

Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings has taken aim at the Premier League over their plans to restart the season.

A shareholder’s meeting is set for today, following the address from Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday evening, which looks set to be highly-charged with a number concerns being raised.

The bottom-six’s opposition to the neutral venues plan has been made clear, with it now reported that two more clubs have joined their stance, but the Mirror reports the ‘big six’ are intending to strong-arm those below them into agreeing to the proposals.

And Mings, writing on social media, has has launched a scathing an attack on the Premier League for what is being proposed.

“Let’s see what else they come out with,” he wrote on Twitter.

“If you believe everything in the press then I’m currently preparing myself to play with a mask, with gloves, for less than 45 minutes each way, whilst quarantining.... in Australia.”

But in a new report on Monday, it was claimed that the 'majority of the bottom half' want relegation to be scrapped if  the Premier League resumes in June.

The bottom six clubs in the division have already made their unhappiness with the neutral venues plan clear and are strongly against the idea.

And according to Sky Sports, the majority of the teams currently in the bottom half want relegation taken off the table.

The notion of getting rid of relegation has angered clubs across the country - including the Championship's top two Leeds United and West Brom - as it would likely derail their promotion bids.
