Aston Villa set to win battle with Rangers for Liverpool midfielder Ryan Kent who flopped at Bristol City - reports

Aston Villa are expected to win the battle to sign Liverpool midfielder Ryan Kent according to the latest reports.

The Sun on Sunday reports Kent will move to Aston Villa whether they go up to the Premier League or not.

Villa face Derby County in the Championship play-off final tomorrow, with one side set to earn a place in the top flight.

Kent, 22, joined Bristol City on loan from Liverpool in January, 2018.

However the midfielder failed to make an impact at Ashton Gate, making just 11 appearances for the Championship club, mainly from the bench, not scoring during his time at the club.

However Kent starred on loan for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this season and now has a number of club's interested in his services next season, including the Scottish club.

According to reports Villans boss Dean Smith is willing to buy Kent for a fee in the region of £10million.

Relegated Huddersfield and Fulham are also understood to be tracking the winger but the eight figure transfer fee is expected to be out of their reach without the Premier League cashflow.
