Aston Villa ready to listen to offers for former Bristol City star striker - report

Aston Villa are prepared to listen to offers for former Bristol City forward Jonathan Kodjia when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports.

The 29-year-old sees the three-year deal he signed at Villa Park after leaving the Robins come to a close at the end of the season, where he would become a free agent.

Speculation regarding Kodjia's future has persisted for a while, with Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa reportedly keen to secure his services before the window in the Far East came to a close.

A departure from the Premier League side still looks likely though, with Football Insider stating that his contract will not be extended - leaving him on the hunt for a new club.

Villa boss Dean Smith was said to be reluctant to let the Ivory Coast international leave recently due to the fact they cannot sign a replacement until January but the writing seems to be on the wall for Kodjia.

Since leaving Bristol City for a record fee, which has since been eclipsed by Lloyd Kelly and Adam Webster, he has scored 29 goals in 98 games for Villa.

This season, he has not featured for the newly-promoted side in the Premier League since the opening day defeat to Tottenham due to ankle and cheekbone injuries.
