Birmingham Live report that RB Leipzig's interest in Tammy Abraham rests on whether Aston Villa win promotion.

Villa are keen to keep Abraham at the club are are rumoured to be prepared to table a £25m to Chelsea for his services on a permanent basis.

Yet that relies on winning promotion and, if they do not, Leipzig are waiting in the wings to scupper any potential deal.

Mikel closing in on Premier League

ESPN report that John Obi Mikel is closing in on a return to the Premier League.

The former Chelsea star played a cameo role with Middlesbrough this season, joining on a short-term deal in January.

He impressed enough to have attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Rondon fee

The Mirror report that Salomon Rondon will cost Newcastle United £16.5m to sign permanently after West Bromwich Albion failed to win promotion.

Rondon has scored 12 goals for the Magpies this season on loan from the Baggies - and he is set to have a one-year contract extension triggered when he returns to the Hawthorns.

However, due to the Baggies' play-off defeat to Aston Villa, the new deal has a £16.5m release clause due to the fact they are still in the second tier.
