Aston Villa join West Ham in striker chase as Huddersfield duo eye exits - Championship rumours

Bristol City and their Championship rivals now have less than one week to complete their transfer business.

The international summer transfer window may now be shut, but Championship sides are already looking at even more business in January.

The domestic transfer window is still open until 5pm on Friday, October 16, with EFL clubs and Premier League clubs able to still do business until then.

But City are not expected to do too much more ahead of the deadline, with Robins boss Dean Holden enjoying a fine start to the new season with four wins from four.

However, some of their Championship rivals are expected to do some late business, with incomings and outgoings expected from several second tier sides before the window closes.

Here's a round-up of all the latest transfer news and rumours from around the Championship on Friday, October 9..

King eyed by Aston Villa

Bournemouth striker Josh King is a target for Premier League side Aston Villa, as they look to clear their wage bill in order to raise funds for the Norwegian.

That’s according to Football Insider , who report that Villa are still in the market for an attacker, despite making a host of signings in the summer window.

West Ham United are also keen on King - who is valued at about £10m - and Villa look set to push the Hammers for his signature.

Villa are ready to get rid of Anwar El Ghazi, Frederic Guilbert and Henri Lansbury by the end of next week, to clear money for a late push for the Cherries forward.

Man City starlet in talks with Championship duo

Manchester City youngster Joel Latibeaudiere is in talks with Reading and Norwich City, according to the Manchester Evening News .

Latibeaudiere is in talks with both Championship sides regarding a permanent move, the report claims.

Man City are now anticipating his departure before the domestic window ends, with the sale expected early next week.

The England youth international plays at centre-back, but also spent time as a right-back whilst featuring for Dutch side FC Twente when he was on loan in Holland.

Kongolo hopes he can make Premier League switch

Huddersfield Town defender Terence Kongolo hopes he can move to Sheffield United before the conclusion of the domestic transfer window.

That’s according to the Sheffield Star , but the report has claimed that the Blades have their concerns over Kongolo.

Chris Wilder’s side believe that the Dutch centre-back could be injury prone following an unsuccessful loan spell at Fulham last season.

With Jack O’Connell likely to be missing for the whole 2020-21 campaign, Wilder wants to bring in a new central defender to provide competition for Jack Robinson.

Huddersfield star wants to join West Brom

Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant has told the Terriers that he wants to join Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, according to The Express & Star .

The Baggies have identified Grant as their number one target before the domestic-only window closes on October 16.

However, Huddersfield are demanding at least £16m for their strikers’ services - who is ‘eager’ to move to the Hawthorns.

The 23-year-old scored 19 goals in 43 Championship appearances for the Yorkshire-based club last season.
