Aston Villa join Burnley in hunt for Ashley Young transfer as Watford exit race

Aston Villa have joined the race for free agent Ashley Young.

The former Manchester United and England ace is considering his options after winning the title at Inter Milan.

His Italian club have held talks over a new deal but the star is also mulling over a Premier League return.

Villa are interested in the versatile ace who can play on either side in defence and also in the hole as a No.10.

Young had considered returning to his original club Watford but they have since Danny Rose.

Burnley are also in the frame for Young who joined Watford's academy aged 10 in in 1995 before making his first team debut in 2003.

He scored 22 goals in 110 games for Watford before departing in a £9.6million move to Villa in January 2007.

Young, who has 39 caps and turns 36 next month, went on to break into the England squad and subsequently won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League and Community Shield with United from 2011-2020 after a £17m move.
