Aston Villa hope Ollie Watkins will be fit for Sunday’s trip to Tottenham.
Watkins pulled out of the England squad for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Latvia after he collided with the post in last week’s 3-0 win against Wales.
The striker was in visible discomfort at Wembley and had to be substituted.
Watkins has now returned to Villa for treatment but Thomas Tuchel has said he will “try to make it for the weekend”.

Villa travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday, when Spurs will be looking build on their good start to the season under Thomas Frank.
Watkins has had a slow start to the season, scoring just one goal in 10 games for Villa. But his fitness would be a major boost for Villa.
“He will try to make it for the weekend,” said Tuchel.
"Instead of scoring, he injured himself unfortunately. It was such a big chance, an easy second goal for him. He was unlucky to hit the goalpost.
“It was very painful for him still and it's just not possible for him to train and also not to play. So, we sent him home.”
After a slow start to the season, Villa have won four straight matches in all competitions.
That run includes back-to-back wins in the Premier League and Unai Emery hopes his team have turned a corner.
