Aston Villa fans on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as speculation intensifies

Aston Villa fans have been debating whether their club should pursue Odsonne Edouard.

It was reported in the Scottish Sun today that the Premier League side are preparing a £30m bid for Celtic striker Edouard, who has scored 66 goals in 130 games for the club.

Some Villa fans believe that fee is too high for a player from the Scottish Premiership, while others insist the league he's currently playing in is irrelevant when you consider his talent.

Here's what Villa supporters have been saying.

FOR

"I'd pay that myself. Looks excellent" - @TheVillaDecree

"Between £30-40m is well worth it" - @AvfcRegan

"He's talented. The fact he plays in Scotland shouldn't matter. Wanyama, McGinn, Stan Petrov, van Dijk and Tierney played in that league and thrived in England" - @ClaretKev1980

"Time will tell but from what I've seen he'll bring a huge goal threat. There's really no telling how valuable that could be for us" - @roboticbottle

AGAINST

"Celtic fans really think Edouard wants to stay in that bum league" - @GrealishAvfc

"Edouard far too good for Villa? WTF is he doing at Celtic then?" - @AVFullBIFTA

"Too much for a player in Scotland. It's a massive gamble" - @peterbarnes91

"Scottish Premiership is Championship at best, maybe League One. May as well buy Toney from Posh and save £25m!" - @kjbtheposh
