Cash deal
Right-back Matty Cash is set to leave Nottingham Forest for Premier League Aston Villa in a £14m move.
The Reds were always going to face a battle to hang on to their star man this summer, with a number of teams chasing his signature.
And it is Villa who have won the race for Cash, after initially seeing a number of bids turned down, the first one starting at £10m.
Sheffield United, too, had an offer rejected, while Fulham, West Ham United and AC Milan were also among those interested in the youngster.
Forest could eventually benefit to the tune of £16m from Villa’s deal for Cash, due to potential add-ons.
Fond farewell
Nottingham Forest Academy manager Gary Brazil has bid an emotional farewell to Matty Cash ahead of the defender's £14million move to Aston Villa.
A deal has been agreed between the two clubs and Cash is now set to undergo a medical before becoming Villa's first signing of the summer.
The Nigel Doughty Academy product will leave the City Ground on the back of a fine season which saw him crowned the club’s player of the year.
He played a key role for the Reds last term, moving from a more advanced role to full-back under the guidance of Sabri Lamouchi.
New contract
Jordan Smith declared himself "delighted" after signing a new contract with Nottingham Forest - and admitted it would have been hard to walk away from his boyhood club.
The goalkeeper's previous deal had come to an end in the summer, after he had agreed a short-term extension to complete the 2019-20 season following the coronavirus shutdown.
But he has now pledged his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract running until the summer of 2022.
Smith has been at the club since the age of seven and, now 25, he has made 51 senior appearances in a Forest shirt.
On the move
Goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon is expected to complete a move from Nottingham Forest to Denizlispor imminently, according to reports in Turkey.
The 33-year-old has spent two years with the Reds but has not been part of the first-team set-up under Sabri Lamouchi.
And his time at the City Ground looks set to come to an end, with a two-year contract with the Turkish side said to have been agreed.
According to Turkish media, Denizlispor president Ali Cetin has officially announced an agreement with Pantilimon and the contract will be signed any time.
