Assetto Corsa is finally becoming a full-fledged racing franchise. They have grown from a simple driving simulator with pretty graphics to now having a dedicated game for GT3 and an even better driving simulator with Assetto Corsa Evo. Even after this, the developers aren’t stopping, as they just announced a rally racing game called Assetto Corsa Rally.
The game is set to launch in Early Access on PC on November 13, with a full release planned roughly 18 months later, according to the developers.
What Will Early Access Assetto Corsa Rally Feature?
Sadly, the game will release in Early Access with minimal content. Future updates and patches will probably bring more content to the game.
For now, the Early Access will feature 10 licensed cars, dedicated online and offline modes, and four rally stages. However, the developers have promised that the full release will have significantly more content. From laser-scanned rally tracks, a wider car roster, co-driver support, to full VR support. The final release will be loaded with content.
The rally racing space has always been overlooked. Sure, we have great rally racing games like WRC and Dirt. But a dedicated full simulation rally racing is something we have yet to see. Assetto Corsa games are known for their realistic driving physics.
The idea of them making a dedicated rally game does sound promising. They did a great job with their GT3 racing game, Assetto Corsa Competizione. If they bring the same passion to this genre of racing, we are bound to see one of the best rally games ever made.
In the upcoming weeks, we are sure to get more information on the game. Things like the price, mod support, or crossplay are still not announced. The pricing should be similar to that of Assetto Corsa Evo and Competizione, within the $25-30 range. Of course, this is pure speculation; we will only know for sure when they announce it.
