A man was assaulted during an attempted theft in East Ayrshire.
The incident happened around 5.15pm on Friday night in the Leggate area of New Cumnock.
A 35-year-old man was subsequently treated at the scene. Police have launched an appeal for information and issued descriptions of two people they want to speak to.
The first suspect is described as a white man, around 40 years old, with dark-coloured hair and a scar from his left eye to his lip.
He was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
The second suspect is described as a white man, around 20 years old, with short, black hair shaved at the side. He was wearing a white jumper and jeans.
Detective Constable Kevin Simpson of Ayrshire CID said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.
“We are keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident.
“We would also be keen to hear from anyone driving passed at the time who may have dash-cam footage.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 2740 of 2 September, 2022.”
