Assault in pub beer garden leaves man in hospital with head injuries

A man is in hospital being treated for head injuries after an assault in a pub beer garden.

Merseyside Police said emergency services were called to The Windsor pub, off Walton Vale, Orrell Park, at around 8.20pm.

The Force received reports one victim was injured in the beer garden area.

A 47-year-old man was rushed to hospital by paramedics where he continues to be treated for head injuries, which police described as non-life threatening.

A spokeswoman for the Force said: "Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident – CCTV is being examined and witnesses sought.

"Officers would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information about it, to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting reference 1113 of 08.08.20 or contact @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111."
